All our sweet goodies are made to order and baked fresh with the highest quality ingredients. You can choose from a huge range of flavours and designs, from our famous moist chocolate cake to our decadently smooth American or Italian meringue buttercream – there is something for everyone. 

We have a wonderful range of cake flavours, buttercreams and fillings. The most popular is our beautiful moist chocolate cake that pairs beautifully with a chocolate buttercream although the vanilla buttercream filling looks amazing when the cake is sliced. Both go well with a raspberry fruit fllling added.  Our vanilla cake is gorgeous and pairs well with a vanilla buttercream and perhaps an added strawberry fruit filling.  We use this recipe to make the lemon and our very popular caramel swirl cake flavours.  Also popular are our Red Velvet and our Carrot Cakes which are both moist and luxurious and pair well with a lemon buttercream, perhaps with a lemon curd fruit filling added. And lastly in our standard range we offer a lovely homely banana cake that pairs incredibly well with a chocolate or caramel buttercream and perhaps an additional caramel filling layer.

To cater for dietary requirements we offer a beautiful vegan cake in vanilla chocolate or banana which people often comment that they could not tell it was vegan!.  We also offer Gluten Free cake in chocolate or vanilla.  Sadly we have not found a perfect recipe for a cake that is both vegan and gluten free but we are actively looking and testing recipes.

How to order our cakes

You can make a quick online order from our Online Shop where you can find a cake for any celebrations at very cost effective prices.  You can browse the cake categories and choose a design. 

All designs can be bought in different sizes and you then choose your cake flavour and filling.  Next you can opt to add an additional fruit or creme filling,  Many of the cakes have colour options and some give you the option to add a fondant Happy Birthday plaque. Finally, tell us your message and we will put in on the top or on the board for you.

If you want a photo cake, these are available round or square. You will need to find and upload the photo you want on the top but once you have uploaded it with your order, we do the rest, including adding your message to the photo!

if you have a special occasion or a cake design or idea in mind, we can create a cake just for you. This custom cake design service enables you to buy a completely unique cake, We don’t copy other designers work but we invite you to send us images of cakes you like from all over the internet for us to use as inspiration,  We will design the cake and send you a quote to consider before you commit.  We can create almost any cake design you like but a custom cake does tend to take a lot longer to create and so the prices tend to be higher than the Online Shop

Visit our Shop or Cafe

We have a Kitchen/Shop in Newlands and last year we opened up The Cake Cafe – Plimmerton as an outlet for our lovely cake products.

You can also pay us a visit at our shop in Newlands where you can see our cake makers in action and chat to them about your cake requirements. The shop is open Tuesday through to Saturday lunchtime and there are cupcakes available to buy from the cabinet.

If you are over Plimmerton way, call in and see us, right next to the Station in Steyne Avenue.  We specialise in selling our cake and cupcakes as well as a range of sweet treats and Kapiti Scoop Icecream.  We have a great lunch menu to eat in or take away and we serve wonderful Flight Thunderbolt coffee and delicious De Luxe Milkshakes.
